Non-Alcoholic Sangria: Refreshing Fruit Punch Recipe

A refreshing mock sangria made with fresh juices, chopped fruit and soda water — a wonderful non-alcoholic take on the classic that’s perfect for hot summer days.

Virgin Sangria

Sangria season has arrived. I love sangria for summer, but I don’t always want alcohol, so this non-alcoholic “Virgin” sangria is my go-to. It’s light, hydrating and tastes every bit as delicious as the original.

This mocktail is easy to sip all day and keeps you refreshed in the heat.

I particularly enjoy scooping out the juice-soaked fruit at the end — it’s concentrated, fruity and so satisfying.

This mocktail is:

  • Dairy-free & vegan
  • Gluten-free & paleo-friendly
  • Sweetened naturally with fruit
  • Fat-free
  • Super easy to make
  • Refreshing and healthy

Making a non-alcoholic Sangria

Fruit juice

The best juices for this mock sangria are red grape juice, cranberry juice and orange juice. These combine to give a bright, fruity base that mimics the depth of traditional sangria. Apple juice can also work well if you prefer a milder sweetness.

Chopped fruit

Chopped fruit is the highlight. Apples, oranges, strawberries and lemon slices work beautifully and release their flavors into the juice as they sit. Use seasonal fruit — peaches, cherries or berries are excellent additions when available.

Cinnamon (optional)

A cinnamon stick added to the jug and left to infuse for a few hours or overnight adds warmth and a subtle spice that brings the drink closer to a classic sangria profile. It’s optional but recommended if you like a hint of spice.

Soda water

Just before serving, stir in soda water or sparkling water to add a pleasant fizz. The carbonation lifts the flavors and makes the drink extra refreshing on a hot day.
