Savory Ranch Snack Crackers for Parties & Everyday Munching

Like the beloved ranch oyster crackers, this mix combines several favorite snack crackers for an addictive, easy-to-make treat that disappears fast.

I make these ranch crackers whenever friends drop by unexpectedly. Serve them in small bowls and let people nibble while they chat. They’re great as a party snack and add a tasty crunch to soups and salads.

Ingredients

Use any plain small crackers you have on hand. I typically combine oyster crackers, Cheez-Its, and Goldfish for a mix of textures and flavors. Avoid already-seasoned crackers.

  • 3 cups oyster crackers
  • 3 cups extra toasty Cheez-Its (or regular Cheez-Its)
  • 2 cups Goldfish crackers
  • ½ cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 oz. package ranch dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Any plain small crackers will work — mini saltines, Bugles, or other bite-sized varieties. Use a seasoned salt you like; brands such as Lawry’s or Season All are fine.

Baking Instructions

Baking gives the crackers an extra-toasty flavor and is quick. Preheat the oven to 275°F and bake for 15–20 minutes, tossing once halfway through so the crackers toast evenly.

No-Bake Instructions

If you prefer not to use the oven, combine the crackers and seasonings in a large zipper bag and let them sit for 3–4 hours, shaking the bag every 30 minutes or so. The crackers may be a touch oilier, but the flavor is the same.

For either method, place the crackers in a large zipper bag. Mix the oil, ranch mix, lemon pepper, and seasoned salt in a small bowl, pour the mixture over the crackers, seal the bag, and shake to coat evenly. For the baked version, spread the coated crackers on a rimmed baking sheet in an even layer before baking.

Best Crackers to Use

Choose whatever plain oyster crackers you prefer — store-brand or Premium work fine. If you want to switch up the mix, try mini saltines, Bugles, or other small plain crackers. Avoid anything too large or pre-seasoned.

These are highly addictive, so set aside a handful before serving unless you want to watch them disappear!
