Cake Pops Toy Line Arrives at Toys R Us
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about Cake Pops — news that still feels a little surreal to me. Since I first posted cake pops on this site, the journey has been more incredible than I ever imagined. From the book to the messages and photos you’ve sent, every story and smile has made this adventure special. Seeing the cake pops you create fills me with pride and joy. And now there’s another fun chapter: a Cake Pops toy line is coming to Toys R Us.
The Idea Behind the Toy
When my book came out, one surprising discovery was how much kids enjoy making cake pops, not just eating them. I heard stories about children asking for the book as a bedtime story, using the photo index as a matching game, and getting hands-on with baking in playful, creative ways. When I was approached about creating a toy, it made perfect sense — a way to let kids safely and imaginatively play with the process of making cake pops at home. It’s a playful extension of what I already love doing in the kitchen.
The toy line is inspired by my book and designed to encourage creativity and hands-on play. It gives kids a way to experiment with shapes, colors, and decoration while learning basic steps of combining cake, frosting, and candy coating into bite-sized treats on a stick.
The Sets
The Ultimate Cake Pops Set includes everything needed to make and display cake pops: a cake pop stand, a cake pop tray, mixing and dipping bowls, a cake crumbler, presses for making different shapes, lollipop sticks, and an instructional placemat. It’s a complete, kid-friendly kit that guides young bakers through forming, dipping, and finishing cake pops.
There is also a Cake Pops Molds Set designed for simpler shape-making. It includes a press and molds to create several shapes — bear, flower, and heart — plus lollipop sticks and instructions. Both sets are designed to be approachable for kids while still being fun for adults who might want to join in.
Shapes you can make with the tools include circles, squares, triangles, cupcake-shaped pops, and themed shapes from the molds set. The tools are intuitive and encourage experimentation with colors, coatings, and toppings.
Who Will Love This
Although the toys are aimed at children, they’re great for all ages. Adults who love cake pops can enjoy them too — keep one for yourself and give the other to a child, or use the kit as a casual baking tool in your own kitchen. The sets are designed to be playful, easy to use, and a creative way to spend time with family and friends.
Availability
The toys are available at Toys R Us, with initial rollouts noted in various regions. In Canada, the sets are being carried in Wal‑Mart stores, and in Australia they are expected to appear in Myer stores. Retail availability and pricing may vary by location and store.
Since receiving production samples, I’ve been having a lot of fun testing the kits — I especially love the pink cake pop stand. It’s been a joy to play with the pieces and think about the ways children and families might use them to get creative together.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Cake Pops so far — from readers and bakers to the families who share their photos and stories. This toy line is a celebration of that community and of the simple delight of making something sweet on a stick.

It’s an exciting time — thank you for being part of this journey, and I can’t wait to see what you create with the Cake Pops toy sets.
